- Kirkpatrick Willodean L, 77, of rural Churubusco in Allen County, died January 31, 2000 in the Provena Sacred Heart Home in Avilla. She was born Aug. 11, 1922 in Collins in Whitley County to Thomas and Maude Elizabeth (Bennett) Gaff. On July 13, 1941 in Peru she married John B. Kirkpatrick. He died April 14, 1996.
A lifetime Churubusco area resident, she had lived at her most recent home in Eel River Twp since 1952. She was a homemaker and member of the Churubusco United Methodist Church. Surviving are 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Frank Demaree of Churubusco, and Pam and Craig Whonsetler of LaOtto; 3 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, Dick and Louise Kirkpatrick of Rome City, Jack and Karen Kirkpatrick of Auburn, and Larry Kirkpatrick of Garrett; 20 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are 5 brothers, Thurlo "Frog" Gaff of LaOtto, Rodger Gaff of Nappanee, John Gaff of Columbia City, Raymond L. Gaff of Muncie, and Leonard "Jake" Gaff of Huntertown; and 5 sisters, Ilene Gordon, Mary Gray, Nevah Fulk and Shirley Stamp, all of Churubusco, and Barbara Leitch of Danville, Iowa. A son, John "Butch", died November 8, 1999; and a brother Carl E. Gaff, died November 23, 1996. Services in Sheets Funeral Home, Churubusco. Burial, Christian Chapel Cemetery. ~ 2-10-2000
