C. Vernon Eddy
C. Vernon Eddy, the first librarian of Winchester's Handley Library, places a rolled-up Civil War–era map inside a protective aluminum tube. The maps pictured here were created by Jedediah Hotchkiss, a cartographer and topographer for the Confederate generals Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson and Robert E. Lee. Eddy catalogued Hotchkiss's maps and papers.
