- Mrs Willard Watkins
Mrs. Lena Fern Watkins, 66, R.F.D. 2, Prospect, died Saturday at 3 pm in Community Memorial Hospital, Marion. Her husband, Willard, died in 1958 and she went to the Marion community nine years ago from Indianapolis, Ind.
Born May 7, 1900 in Marion County, she was a daughter of John F. and Addie May Cratty Smeltzer. She had been married to Roy Adams who died in 1937. A registered nurse, she had been employed at one time in Toledo where she was a member of the Glenwood Lutheran church. She was a member of Starlight Temple of Pythian Sisters at Essex.
Surviving are one step-son, Willard D Watkins, Indianapolis; a step-daughter, Mrs. Joseph Marks, Canton; eight step-grandchildren; two brothers, Roy C. Smeltzer, Prospect, and Roscoe, Buffalo, N.Y., and one sister, Mrs Gail Lauer, Prospect. A number of cousins reside in Logan county.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 pm at the residence with Rev. Paul E. Dobberstein of the Prospect St. Lutheran Church in charge. Burial will be at Prospect.
