- JOHN WILLIAM JOHNSTON III "Jack", 77, of Huntington, passed away Nov. 24, 2005, in the VA Medical Center after a long illness. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 28, at Saint Ann Catholic Church, Chesapeake, Ohio. Internment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. John was born January 3, 1928, in Huntington, to the late John and Alice Heath Enslow Johnston. He was a graduate of Huntington High School and Marshall University. He also attended the University of Virginia at Charlottesville. John was active in commerce in Huntington and served on the staff at the Huntington State Hospital. He was a Navy veteran stationed at the Bikini Atoll, Marshall Islands, and Micro-Nesia. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Bliss Virago. Survivors include his former wife, Peggy Vise Johnston; daughter, Sybil Thompson and her husband, Eric, of Proctorville, Ohio, and one sister, Gloria Heath (Mrs. Ashton Kidder) of Columbus, Ohio. There will be no viewing.
