FERN PRAIRIE MAN WAS VETERAN OF CIVIL WAR
W. S. Hall, a member of Orchards G. A. R. camp, Lew Wallace, who died in Fern Prairie Monday, was a veteran of the Civil war, where he served in the 183rd Pennsylvania infantry for three years, being honorably discharged at the close of the war.
Mr. Hall was born in 1842 in Maryland, but in his early childhood moved with his parents to Georgia, where he lived until the war. Soon after the war he was married, living for a time in Pennsylvania, and later moving to Wisconsin where his wife died. Later he married again, moving soon after to the coast. This was in 1883, and from that time until his death he had lived in Fern Prairie on the farm on which he made his home, and on which he died.
He is survived by his wife, Alice M. Hall, and by four children, Lewis Hall, of Fisher; Mrs. Mathilda Hall Rule, of Edmons; William E. Hall, of Fern Prairie, and Mrs. Maud Silv???? Of Newport, Oregon.
