- Decatur Druggist Dies Suddenly
H. F. Callow, 64, a prominent and highly respected citizen, and partner in the Callow and Kohn Drug Store on N. Second street, Decatur, dropped dead in the drug store Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock while waiting on a customer. Death was due to a heart attack. Last summer he suffered from a sun stroke and apparently never regained his former good health.
He was a son of Wm. and Eliza Alice Callow and was born at Wren, Oct 14, 1869. He moved to Adams county 30 years ago and became associated with Raymond Kohn in the drug store business.
He is survived by his wife and two children, Mary, a teacher in the Fort Wayne schools, and Stanley of Decatur. Two brothers, John and Allen of Wren, survive and one sister, Mrs. Alice Smith of Fort Wayne.
Funeral services were held at the home on N. Fourth street Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock.

This union had two children:
Mary Pauline Callow and Stanley Theodore Callow. Mary born October 26, 1903, died November 25, 1996. Stanley born October 26, 1906, died March 21, 1966.
Horace was a druggist in Decatur, Indiana at Callow and Kohne Drug Store.
After Ida's death, the children went to live with relatives. Mary went to live with the Dan Erwin's family. Stanley went to live with his Aunt Alice Callow Smith.
Horace married Fannie Rice October 22, 1914. Fannie Rice was born 1876, died 1944. She baked the biggest and best sugar cookies with a raisin in the middle.
Horace died waiting on a customer in the drug store. He had a heart attack."
