Reverend William Henry Wagner and Caroline Zeller Wagner
Reverend William Henry Wagner and Caroline Zeller Wagner
Caroline and William had been childhood sweethearts. They had each married someone else, and he became a minister in Huron, Michigan. After his wife died, Caroline saw the notice in the Sunday School paper and sent her condolences. He answered her letter and then began stopping in Mt. Cory when he came down on business trips. Finally they decided to get married.

Wife of Judge Peter Kelly

Having not seen the original of this photo, I speculate that it is either a Daguerrotype or an Ambrotype. Thomas Miltenberger was listed as an ambrotypist in Bellefontaine, Ohio in 1858. This means that the technology was available in that town for this photo to have been taken during the years that Sarah was still living. The clothing worn by the woman in this photo suggests to me that it was taken sometime in the 1860's.
