    Name:
His naturalization record, and the census records refer to him as Joseph D. Wyburn, Sr. It appears that his birthname was Job Wyburn; this was his father and his grandfather's name. Job Wyburn was also the name in which he is found in the 1841 England Census. But once he got to the United States, he seems to have changed his name to Joseph D. Wyburn. One thing to ponder is his middle initial D. Did this perhaps represent his mother's middle name, Dicker?

    Immigration:
In 1850 Job left his first wife, Ann Minson Wyburn, and their younger children who were living in Creech Saint Michael, Somerset, England on property which Job had inherited from his parents. Job emigrated from England to the United States, arriving in New York City in September, 1850. When Job traveled to the United States, he may have traveled with his eldest daughter, Mary, his son, John and John's recent bride, Sarah Coombes Wyburn. Mary, John and Sarah are listed as passengers on the Fredonia, a ship that arrived in New York City in September, 1850, but Job is not listed on the ship's manifest

    Residence:
    Joseph's property consisted of:

    85 acres Improved Land
    25 acres Wood-land
Cash value: $4,000. farm and $300. of farm implements
Total amount of wages paid $100.00
    Livestock:
    7 horses
    4 milk cows
    16 other cattle
    100 sheep
    20 swine
    Value of all livestock $700.00
    75 bushels of winter wheat
    300 bushels of Indian Corn
    476 bushels of Oats

    Residence:
His age was listed as 65, but that is incorrect.

    Died:
    Death due to hernia.

Ohio Death record says he was born 1814; however, that is probably information provided by his third wife who really did not know. No burial location listed on his death record.

Job married Sarah Ann MINSON about 1826. Sarah (daughter of John MINSON and Sarah MITCHELL) was born on 30 Apr 1808 in Ilminster, Somerset, England, United Kingdom; died on 29 Nov 1886 in Creech St. Michael, Somerset, England, United Kingdom. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
